Getting Started


Shopfloor is a production and time tracking system consisting of an Android tablet based application for use in the production environment, and a back end management system accessible by any web browser on the local network, and externally with the appropriate network security changes

To access the management system:


  • Open a web browser such as Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox - Chrome is recommended
  • Enter the address of your Shopfloor installation (provided separately).
    • At this point you can bookmark the page for quick access later


Once you have accessed the page, you will see the main dashboard screen which will look similar to this which shows an overview of users logged on, and several tabs which show more information about production, employees, quality.







Overview of Dashboard Screen




Accessible from any page by pressing the ‘Shopfloor’ heading at the top left of the screen, this dashboard screen shows a brief overview of your system.


Across the top of the screen are the menu items - Live production, Manage, Tools, Help, the logged-on user and a log off option.


Below is a summary of notifications relevant to management and plant engineers


  • Users Off standard - This section shows which of your staff are off-standard for some reason. These reasons include training, no work, on break.  More about offstandards here


  • Awaiting – notifications of offstandards that require managerial approval are shown here.


  • Locations – A location is a Shopfloor tablet typically a tablet is at a machine location, this section  is to notify when a machine is broken, has no work, or some other technical reason for a pause in operations. These are useful for support staff who can also be notified by email when a warning appears in this section. See the later section related to locations



The pane below shows a summary of operators' status. The three tabs are


  • Overview –  A summary of the operators, their names, IDs, status, off standard reason,  total production minutes, SMV (standard minute value) and efficiency.
    • Pressing the 'Detail' button to the right of the column will bring up a box containing three tabs to show more information about that user. The time period covered in these pages can be chosen from the drop down box labeled 'Production Intervals'
      • Aggregated - shows a summary of what the user has worked on, time spent, pay and efficiency
      • Transactions - shows details of data sent from the tablet to the database such as sign on/off, go offstandard, break, back to work etc.
      • Timeline - shows a summary of the user's work on a calendar-like view
  • Production - This page shows what operators are working on and the operator's details such as ID, location and name.
  • Work time - A summary of time employees have spent working on standard and off standard since the last time reset production was performed.
  • Quality - this is a summary of any recorded quality issues with your production. It shows deductions made to users in offstandard and onstandard. More information about quality can be found here


Filter and sort


In most views the data can be sorted or filtered.


To sort, click the heading name and the data will be sorted on that criteria


To filter, click the small 'funnel' icon next to the heading name and choose from 'contains', 'is equal to, or 'starts with' then enter the filter criteria. This can be data such as a part of an operator's name, or select from the drop down item list to find what you're looking for such as which operators are on a particular off standard currently.



Export


Any page of data with the 'export to Excel' button can be exported to an Excel format. This file will be downloaded in your browser



Search



In the top bar of any page is the search box. Enter a search criteria in here and press the 'Go!' button to search the data for that term.
